ISLE Activities - Lighting Design Competition

The first ISLE Lighting Design Competition was held in 1993 as a response to requests from young architects and designers, and sought to introduce the concept of lighting design. The second ISLE Lighting Design Competition, which evolved from the first, required the participants to re-interpret established ideas to provide a more meaningful visual environment, and took place in 1995. The Third ISLE Lighting Design competition which was held in 1999 had Rural Lighting as its subject. The Competitions have attracted a favorable response, particularly from students and young professionals in the fields of Architecture, Engineering and Design. With cash prizes, the purpose of the Lighting Design Competitions is to spread awareness among both designers and users about the field of Lighting Design.
