Standardisation & National Lighting Code
Active participation in BIS committees on lamps, luminaires, automotive lighting, and building codes.

Standardisation has been a cornerstone of ISLE's mission since its inception. Society members contribute as Principal Members on Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) committees — including TED 11, ETD 23, ETD 49, and NBC CED 46 Panel P12 — advancing national lighting standards for lamps, luminaires, automotive lighting, and building codes.
ISLE's landmark achievement was its instrumental role in drafting India's National Lighting Code in 2010, followed by a comprehensive revision completed in 2025 to reflect technological developments and evolving industry practices.
